The founder of Five Springs, Lisa Sawyer Derman, has over 30 years of experience in the spirits industry, having held executive roles at prominent brands such as Stoli and Macallan. A Kentucky native with a deep-rooted passion for bourbon, Derman was inspired to create her own brand after noticing a growing interest in bourbon among her millennial children and their friends. She saw an opportunity to introduce bourbon to a new generation of whiskey drinkers who might be hesitant about traditional brown spirits.
Derman's journey began in her kitchen, where she experimented with natural ingredients like vanilla, pure maple, local honey, sage, and other fruits and botanicals.
