The whiskey brand is called Gentleman’s Cut and has been producing its core whiskey that is aged 5-7 years and bottled at 90 proof and was priced relatively high at $80 per bottle.
Last year they released the 15 year old Player Exclusive, priced at an astonishing $4,500. That’s more than some bottles of Pappy, for point of reference.
This new release, called Player Exclusive’s: Father and Son comes as Stephen Curry celebrates 16 seasons in the NBA and so it's rightfully a 16 Year Old Bourbon - thankfully it is only priced at $950 while still insanely high, less than last year's release.
“This year, I’m celebrating a milestone I’ve been dreaming of, striving towards, and looking forward to since I first picked up a basketball. I am entering my 16th season in the NBA, and I am proud to follow my father, Dell, who played a remarkable 16 seasons in the Association. Making it to season 16 has been a personal goal of mine. My pops set—and raised—the bar for us growing up, making this season much more meaningful and special for our family. To commemorate the years, we’ve bottled this unique Father and Son edition of Gentleman’s Cut’ Player Exclusive, honoring the example my dad set for our family both on and off the court. I’m hoping you’ll enjoy this bourbon with those around you who have had a similarly profound impact on your life, and those who have inspired you to create your own success.” ~ Stephen Curry
The new release is a true collector's item, with only 1000 bottles produced.

This 100-proof bourbon began distillation in August 2008 with a mash bill of 75% corn, 13% rye, and 12% malted barley. The result is a delectable bourbon with notes of sweetness, spiciness, and smoke. An intense profile of dried cherries and caramelized elements jumps out of the glass, and as you delve into the drink, a nuanced hint of fine tobacco leaf can be tasted as it lends a warm earthy feel to the bourbon.
This limited-edition bourbon will be available to members of the Gentleman’s Cut mailing list, as well as through select trade accounts in multiple states with a retail price of $950
Since Stephen's father, Dell Curry, also had 16 outstanding NBA seasons, the milestone is very meaningful to Stephen and his family. Among NBA veterans, Wardell "Dell" Curry Sr. is highly esteemed. Curry held the record for most points while he was a member of the Charlotte Hornets. Before he retired from professional basketball in 2002, Curry was previously voted NBA 6th Man of the Year in 1996. Since then, he has worked in the front office of the franchise and now works for the Charlotte Hornets as an analyst and pundit.
“Just like so many others, I consider my father to be one of the greatest. Growing up, my father was an amazing role model to me; he showed me what it means to be a hard worker, have a solid work ethic, and give it your all. I’ve always looked up to him and admired his work ethic and skills so to be able to achieve a milestone that he also accomplished is an amazing feeling. I wanted to bottle this amazing feeling, and share it with the world, and the result was a delectable combination of flavors that came together through the Player Exclusive: Father and Son Edition.” ~ Stephen Curry
“Gentleman’s Cut has always been at the forefront of celebratory moments for Stephen and our family, so to be able to release a limited edition bourbon inspired by our time in the NBA is a blessing. I’m so proud of everything he has accomplished, and Gentleman’s Cut Players Exclusive: Father and Son edition is a testament to that.” ~ Dell Curry
