Woodford Reserve bourbon was included in the gift bags of attendees of the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies Luncheon on Monday during President Donald Trump's second inauguration.
Members of Congress, CEOs from large internet companies like Apple and Amazon, and justices of the Supreme Court were among the guests.
According to U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell's team, the bourbon that was given to luncheon guests was provided by the company that owns the brand, Brown-Forman Corp., located in Louisville.
Trump's Impact On The Alcohol Industry
Trump, or at least Trump's people, are aware of the alcohol industry's potential for financial gain.
Trump, who is renowned for abstaining from alcohol, introduced Trump Vodka in 2006, but it fell short of its slogan, "Success Distilled." The brand was no longer in existence after two years.
Additionally, the president opened the 45 Wine & Whiskey Bar in New York's Trump Tower. Specialty drinks like "The Don," a concoction of whiskey and Italian liqueur, are available at the bar atop Trump Tower. Wines from Trump's Virginia winery are on the wine list.
According to reports, the wine bar had a rough start and was "abandoned" a year after it opened in 2021. When Emily Colucci, a culture writer, payed a brief visit to the wine bar, she discovered it was closed forty minutes after it had opened. The author shared images of the vacant area on social media.
The President's numerous attempts to turn a profit seem to include 45 Wine & Whiskey Bar.
