Bourbon enthusiasts and fans of Sazerac Bourbon brands, including Buffalo Trace, are in for an exciting change with the revamped Sazerac Barrel Select program. The new Sazerac Barrel Select initiative opens up a broader array of barrels for enthusiasts to choose from, creating more opportunities to discover their preferred whiskey profiles.
Key Enhancements:
Expanded Barrel Supply: The 2023 allocation of barrels in the Barrel Select program sees a remarkable increase, with a 70% rise compared to 2021. This includes a 100% increase in Buffalo Trace barrels.
Diverse Brand Selection: Sazerac is offering a wider range of brands within the program. Notably, brands like Bowman Brothers, EH Taylor, Sazerac Rye, and Stagg, previously exclusive to retailers, are now available to participants. Additionally, non-Bourbon brands such as Paul John, Corazón, and Caribou Crossing will be introduced in the coming years.
Enhanced Transparency: The program introduces a new points system that provides participants with greater clarity on accessing barrels and better chances of securing them. Each point earned in the Sazerac Barrel Select system equates to one entry into barrel drawing events.
Increased Drawing Opportunities: Unlike the previous first-come, first-served approach, the new process features four drawing events per year, giving participants more chances to acquire coveted barrels.
Streamlined Experience: To simplify user engagement, a redesigned website and consumer account management platform are being introduced. Users can also add club affiliations to their profiles, enhancing the overall experience.
Participants can earn Sazerac Barrel Select (SBS) points in various ways. Upon creating an SBS account, individuals automatically receive one entry and one point, with additional points distributed annually on January 1st. Furthermore, users can earn two extra points by specifying their individual brand preferences and confirming their readiness to make a purchase. Members can also anticipate additional point-earning opportunities via email throughout the year.
Drawing events for the Sazerac Barrel Select program are currently scheduled for September and December 2023. The original Single Barrel Select program was launched in 2015.
Diego Bianchi, Barrel Select general manager, expressed gratitude to fans for their continuous support of the program. He highlighted that Sazerac Barrel Select underscores their commitment to providing consumers access to an extensive portfolio of award-winning spirits, spanning from Bourbon to other whiskey varieties, Tequila, rum, and more. This expansion promises a thrilling journey for whiskey enthusiasts seeking unique and prized barrels to elevate their collections.
