Some Drinkers Are Walking Away from These Distilleries

Based on a reddit thread found here started by user frytuna, who asked the following question: "Which distilleries are you giving up in 2025 and which are you looking forward to their new releases?" This article tries to summerize the distilleries people are giving up on in 2025. We will tackle the exciting upcoming releases in another roundup. For now the ones people are disagreeing with - do you agree with these?

Willett Whiskey

The overall consensus is that Willett just costs too much for it to be worth it. Not worth the trouble of trying to find them let alone worth paying for it. But if money is no object you can find some online here!

Old Carter

Same as Willett - too much money for what it is. But if want one anyway you can find some online here!

Bookers

People have been lately the releases have been underwhelming and overall people are just not feeling the last few releases. In the event you do want to buy a bottle try here!

Blanton's

Gold, single barrel, no matter - people are just starting to not care for them. One reddit user states "I likely will not buy any variants again. I got a store pick single barrel a while back and it just sits. It's not that interesting to me." The price can be pretty high on these as well though at MSRP I would still get one. They can be found online as well here!

Chicken Cock

"Decent but way overpriced. Shame cool bottles and funny names" says another reddit user. Despite being able to find bottles starting at $50 some bottles can get upwards of $200 - but if you are so inclined you can find bottles online here!

Smoke Wagon

"I've had distribution on Smokewagon since its inception, and got turned onto them early. I've seen quality decline and lost interest as a result." Not sure everyone agrees with this one and if you are one of those who disagree you can buy Smoke Wagon whiskey here!

Garrison Brothers

"I find their whiskies undrinkable." says one, " too expensive now. I have liked a few, and even think one of their cask strength picks I bought for $160 was worth the price, but their new High proof releases are jumping the shark for my budget and are not appropriately priced for what they are (based on what I have tasted at bottle shares). Do better GB." says another reddit user. One more: "Totally agree with you on Garrison, never had one I liked. Young and hot, which is a terrible combination." Overall not a lot of love - but if you do want a bottle despite this you can buy Garrison Brothers here!
